Council is inviting the community to provide feedback on an exciting proposal to upgrade one of the Northern Beaches’ most iconic destinations, Shelly Beach Reserve.
The popular reserve is nestled in Cabbage Tree Bay in Manly, drawing visitors from across Sydney and internationally from around the world to the spectacular beach and picnic area.
Council has developed a concept plan to renew and enhance the Shelly Beach foreshore area.
The works aim to create stronger connections between the reserve, beach and headland while helping the foreshore better withstand coastal conditions and natural erosion processes.
The vital improvements will make the area more appealing and user-friendly for the broader community, including locals and tourists alike who flock year-round to the popular reserve.
The proposed works, to be completed in 2027, include:
- improved paths and connections between the beach, reserve, headland and surrounding areas
- renewed seating and gathering spaces
- landscaping, planting and turf improvements
- upgraded signage and wayfinding.
The community can view the full proposal and additional documents on Council’s Your Say page.
Submissions close Sunday 22 November 2026.
