Ouchie Piercing and Tattoo

Kitsch, cute and unapologetically cool, Ouchie brings a fresh take to Manly’s piercing and tattoo scene.
Tucked down a narrow alley off Sydney Road, it feels like a little secret: the kind of spot you stumble upon once, then immediately tell your friends about.

Run by the ever-sweet Sunny, Ouchie has built a reputation for clean lines, soft detail and a playful, feel-good approach to body art. Nothing about it is traditional, and that’s exactly why people love it.
The studio’s signature flash designs are some of the best on the Beaches, bursting with charm, character and that quirky edge Sunny is known for.

Piercings are handled with the same care and creativity, whether it’s classic lobes, curated cartilage or a simple jewellery change. The selection of body jewellery is surprisingly large for such a tiny space, with pieces that lean cute, stylish and beautifully delicate.

Ouchie has become a favourite for first-timers and collectors alike: welcoming, kind, professional and unmistakably fun. A little shop with big personality, and a reminder that tattoos don’t have to be serious to be seriously good.

Getting Creative with AHHA

If you’ve ever met Anna Stoyanova from AHHA JEWELRY, you’ll get why her workshops have become a bit of a thing. She’s super personable, always laughing, always creating, always encouraging you to jump in and give something a go. There’s no jewellery-snob energy here. No hushed tones. No “please don’t touch that”. She wants you right in the mix.

Her maker spaces in Freshwater and Avalon are exactly that: spaces to make. Light, airy, fun and full of personality. There’s usually good music playing, a local artist’s work hanging on
the walls and someone tinkering away in the creative nook at the back. It’s the antithesis of a stuffy, sterile jewellery store. Zero pretense. Maximum creativity.

And the workshops, honestly, they’re great fun. We’ve done them. You sit down, start beading or wire-working or designing and suddenly you’re in this flow where time doesn’t matter. You leave with three pieces of jewellery that are super personal and actually really cute. You can choose workshops for earrings, necklaces, bracelets, or beading. Whatever you’re feeling that day. You’ll surprise yourself with what you can do with a bit of guidance and a whole lot of beads.

Anna created AHHA with a sense of creative generosity. She wants people involved. She wants you to learn, experiment, get your hands moving, mess up, fix it, try again and feel proud of the final pieces. She loves showing you how it all works. Nothing is hidden behind the counter. Everything is shared.

Local artists gravitate toward the space. Painters, ceramicists, illustrators, makers. AHHA has become a little creative community hub. People come in to peruse the beautiful jewelry, only to meet someone, book a session, bring a friend next time and before they know it, they've been AHHA’d.

The pieces are made with the same recycled steel and 18-carat bonded gold as the AHHA range, so you can actually wear what you make every day. Swim, shower, surf, gym, school pick-ups, whatever. It won’t tarnish or wear out. You don’t put it in a drawer for “special occasions”. You keep it on because it holds a memory of where you made it and who you made it with.

AHHA’s workshops are relaxed, social and incredibly grounding. They let you switch off and use your hands in a way adults don’t get to do enough. Anna has created a space that feels inclusive, warm and very Beaches. A collective of creativity, good vibes and jewellery that tells a story.
