New Freshwater Playground

Northern Beaches Council has installed new playground equipment for young adventurers at the southern end of Freshwater Beach Reserve.

The new equipment features toddler friendly climbing structures, a double slide, modern swing set with basket, standard and toddler seats, a bouncy dune buggy rocker.

These new facilities complement the larger accessible playground which can be reached via the connecting path that has been moved just a touch to make it even easier for families and prams to get around and enjoy the area.

Northern Beaches Mayor Sue Heins was pleased to see the playgrounds reopened “It’s great to see kids and their families at the beach and also on the reserve enjoying nature and having fun.

“Freshwater Beach Reserve now features 7 swings, 3 slides plus climbing equipment and all sorts of sensory play for children along with the BBQ and picnic facilities for the entire family.

“We are so lucky to not only have a great beach at Freshwater but also facilities that support the community being able to spend more time relaxing with each other.

“Council’s focus continues to be creating amazing, safe and accessible places for all ages to play and explore, and with over 200 playgrounds in the area and even more reserves there’s no better time to get outdoors,” Mayor Heins said.
