Axopar 38: Made for Days Like This

The Axopar 38 is coming, and it might just be the most exciting thing to hit our waters in years. Bigger, smarter and more capable than ever, this is the boat that lets you do it all: sunrise fishing runs, weekend overnighters, long coastal adventures, without giving up a single thing. Eyachts has it, and once you see it in person, it is very hard to walk away.

Picture this: you are anchored in a sheltered bay north of Pittwater. Cold drink in hand. Platforms down. Kids already in the water. The sun is high, the esky is stocked, and the only real decision is whether to paddle out now or wait until after lunch.

That is exactly the life the Axopar 38 was built for.

Unveiled at the Düsseldorf Boat Show in Germany to an audience that immediately recognised what it was looking at, the 38 is the most ambitious and most capable Axopar ever built. It draws on more than a decade of real world owner feedback, boats pushed hard in genuine coastal and offshore conditions, and that experience shows in every line and surface.

Earned Confidence

Start at the waterline. The hull was designed from scratch by naval architect Jarkko Jämsén, whose waterline first philosophy has shaped every Axopar since 2014. The result is a boat that feels instantly composed, balanced when the chop builds, stable at anchor, and smooth at speed in a way that quietly encourages you to go further and stay out longer.

It is approximately 25 percent lighter than many competitors in its class, which means sharper handling, better fuel efficiency and a ride that is noticeably easier on the body.

Twin outboards deliver speeds past 45 knots when you want to open it up, yet the real satisfaction sits in the cruise, the response through a turn, the way it settles as conditions shift.

"Drivability, handling, agility and adaptability to changing sea states are always the priority," says Jan-Erik Viitala, Founding Partner and Chief Creative and Innovation Officer at Axopar.

On our coastline and waterways, that's what matters.

Built for Our Coast

Swimming. Paddleboards. Diving. Tender access. Long afternoons that roll gently into sunset drinks. Load up the day, drop the platforms, let the water come to you.

Australia's coastline demands versatility, from long coastal runs and offshore passages to social days anchored in familiar bays and golden hour returns. The Axopar 38 handles it all without compromise.

Axopar is exclusively represented in Australia and New Zealand by Eyachts, whose team has been matching local boaters to the right Axopar for years. Whether you are experienced offshore or still defining your boating style, the Eyachts approach is knowledgeable, relaxed and grounded in practical experience.

"Seeing the Axopar 38 in person really highlights just how much space and adaptability have been designed into the platform," says Russell Ayers, Axopar Brand Manager at Eyachts. "From long coastal runs to relaxed days at anchor, we can see this becoming a very important model in the Australian market."

The first Australian example makes its official debut at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show 2026 on 21–24 May 2026, offering the chance to step aboard, explore every corner and picture exactly where you would take it first.

Room to Move

The Axopar 38 is wider, smarter and more liveable than anything that has carried the badge before.

Below deck, the forward cabin feels thoughtfully designed, with increased headroom, a broader beam and proper sleeping space for two people up to four. Add an enclosed shower, galley options and flexible layouts, and overnight trips feel less like making do and more like a deliberate weekend escape.

Up top, the pilothouse is somewhere you will actually want to linger. Clean sightlines, generous natural light and a new aft opening window connect the helm to the cockpit when you are anchored, while keeping things protected underway. It is social, practical and cleverly adaptable, doubling as additional sleeping space when needed.

This is where flexibility becomes the point.

Designed Around You

Choose your model: Cross Cabin, Sun Top, Cross Top or CCX, then shape the layout around you. U-shaped entertaining forward, wet bar aft, open deck for fishing or a full aft cabin for longer stays.

Drop. Swim. Repeat.

Talk to anyone who has stepped aboard and the platforms come up quickly. Fold down activity platforms rated to three tonnes and positioned higher above the waterline than most comparable designs, so they remain usable even when the swell rolls through, transforming the stern into a genuine lifestyle zone.
