Manly Art Gallery & Museum, 1a West Esplanade Manly NSW 2095
Artist Todd Fuller brings together hand-drawn animation, performance and interactive drawing to explore queer stories from Australian history. At the heart of the exhibition is Adam George, a Northern Beaches actor, musician and surfer.
Based on interviews with George, Fuller’s new animation traces his experience growing up in the local surf scene, where conservative attitudes often sat at odds with his emerging queer identity. Set alongside the gallery’s surfboard collection and Manly Cove, the work speaks to resilience, visibility and belonging.
Part of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras+ 2026 program, the exhibition continues MAG&M’s focus on cultural dialogue and diverse voices within the community.
