Sargood Kids Camp

The first Sargood Kids Camp in 2023 was such a success that it was featured on 60 Minutes with Sir Peter Cosgrove. Now in its fourth year, the 2026 Kids Camp is as strong as ever, this year completely selling out all spots.

Dedicated to supporting individuals with spinal chord injuries, The Sargood Foundation is a not-for-profit Australian organisation based in Collaroy. Their home base, Sargood on Collaroy, is a world-first, purpose-built facility for people with spinal cord injury, offering short-term stays designed to support rehabilitation, independence, and wellbeing. It's also the site of Sargood's yearly kids camp, a program for children aged 4–14 with spinal chord injuries.

Running from Monday 13 – Friday 17 July, this year's program features five days of sports, colour and adventure by Collaroy beach.

On Monday, the kids enjoy wheelchair basketball, followed by BBQ dinner and a movie night.

On Tuesday, the day kicks off with one-on-one surfing lessons, followed by a big day of sports at Manly Dam, covering everything from kayaking to fishing and even cycling. After spending their energy, the kids will refuel with a BBQ lunch and Mexican Fiesta dinner followed by a movie.

Wednesday brings another morning of surfing, followed by the crowd favourite colour run – white T-shirts essential! The vibe stays strong with wheelchair tennis, followed by pizza night and a movie.

Thursday covers all bases with fishing, a bush adventure, more wheelchair tennis and wheelchair basketball, and a dinner of pasta and meatballs. Switching out the movie night for a Karaoke disco, the trip ends with a sensational send-off.

Friday is for hugs goodbye, friendships forged and safe travels home with promises to return next year.

With support from the Sargood Foundation, no child has to miss out due to funding. Extra sessions on Nursing Education and one-one-one Exercise Physiology are available on Wednesday and Thursday, perfecting the trip into a chance for kids connect with others living with Spinal Chord Injuries, learning and growing together.
