Royal Far West Spins for Country Kids

This November, the beachfront of Manly will come alive with pedal power as Royal Far West celebrates a remarkable milestone — 100 years of supporting country kids.

On Wednesday, 6 November, the charity will launch its first-ever Spin Off Challenge, inviting local businesses and supporters to hop on a stationary bike and collectively ride 100 kilometres in a single day — symbolising a century of care, connection and commitment.

More than just a fitness challenge, the event is about unity and impact. Every kilometre ridden helps raise vital funds for children in rural and remote communities who need specialist developmental and mental health support.

“It’s not about competition – it’s about compassion, connection and impact,” says Jacqui Emery, CEO of Royal Far West. “The Spin Off Challenge is a powerful way to go beyond for country kids and remind them they’re never forgotten.”

The day will feature a festival atmosphere right by the sand, with local businesses spinning side by side, community cheer squads, and even mini bikes for kids — giving young riders the chance to pedal alongside adults in a show of support for the next generation of country kids.

Adding to the community spirit, James Griffin, Member for Manly, will jump on a bike at 11am to ride a short leg in support of the cause.

For a century, Royal Far West has been based right here in Manly, transforming the lives of children who would otherwise go without. Through their Centre for Country Kids, virtual care programs, and in-community outreach, the organisation supports thousands of families every year — because where you live should never determine the quality of care you receive.

The Spin Off Challenge runs from 10am to 3pm, with registrations opening at 9:30am. All funds raised will directly help Royal Far West continue to expand its reach and impact across Australia.
