Balgowlah Boys High School student Nathan Murray, 15, has hit the big time as Home and Away’s newest troublemaker, Cohen Luther. But fame hasn’t gone to his head. He’s still the local kid chasing waves, hanging with mates, and texting celebs like it’s no big deal. Keep an eye on this one – he’s just getting started.
Nathan Murray’s only in Year 10, but the Manly local is already making moves most teens can only dream of. Born in LA and raised between California and The Beaches, he got his first taste of the spotlight in baby commercials alongside twin brother Noah. Roles in American Horror Story, the indie flick Carriers, and walking the runway for Nike and Hurley followed.
Now, you can catch him daily on Home and Away, playing Cohen Luther, a character with layers, drama, and plenty of screen time.
“I’ve been on set as Cohen for six months,” says Nathan. “Some days I had ten scenes to do and was up at 5am. It was hectic but so much fun. My brain was in overdrive!”
Away from school and study, Nathan’s found his groove on set, made a few famous mates, and settled into life at Summer Bay.
“Nick Cartwright, who plays Constable Cash, and I would throw the footy around between scenes. Everyone was super welcoming, especially Georgie, who plays my foster mum. She’s the best.”
Off screen, Nathan’s a classic Beaches kid – laid-back, surf-obsessed and always up for a sunrise paddle or an arvo hang. “I love early surfs with Dad, or watching the sunrise with mates. We’re always at Jump Rock in Manly or the Mermaid Pools in Manly Vale when it rains – the waterfall that comes through there is epic,” he says.
With his natural talent, chilled energy and serious work ethic, Nathan’s one to watch. Catch him lighting up the screen on Home and Away, or down at the beach, chasing waves and living the good life.
