We all know the Northern Beaches is one of the best places to live in the world. It’s not just the natural beauty – it’s our incredible community. As a community-backed Independent MP I’m focused on standing up and fighting for our community.

And that voice is already making our beaches safer

This year we’ve seen what can happen when our community works together – with the Government agreeing to our calls for drones on our beaches from dawn to dusk, 365 days a year.

Without the work of our community, the Northern Beaches might have had to settle for a sub-standard program. Instead we have a world-leading program that is making our beaches safer.

But the work isn’t done. The drone program isn’t perfect. That is why I am advocating for an advisory group including surfers and swimmers to improve communications gaps and data use.

We’re also no longer being taken for granted when it comes to major infrastructure

After being neglected for so long by the major parties, Pittwater is on track to get the road upgrades we deserve.

After making it my number one priority after being elected in October 2024, we now have the $500 million for upgrades to Mona Vale Road West already being put to work and construction on the Wakehurst Parkway is underway.  And an immediate win with the new smooth road sections along Barrenjoey Road and Pittwater Road (which also highlight the bits that still need doing!)

There’s no doubt there’s more to do.

Our bus services need improvement. Despite the Government agreeing to our calls for more bendy, buses and B1 buses, we still have a driver shortage and our bus services are still in privatised hands. This arrangement is failing the Beaches.

It’s time to turn around decades of neglect and better fund local sports infrastructure

As every sports lover on the Beaches knows, our sports facilities are in disrepair. I’ve been shocked at the state of amenities blocks and clubhouses that have clearly been neglected by all three levels of government. The Mona Vale Raiders don’t even have a clubhouse and nearly all clubs are struggling to provide facilities – particularly for girls and women who often don’t have changing rooms!

It’s time to better fund local sports.

Decades of neglect from the major parties won’t be easy to change – but the $6.7 million we secured for upgrades to the Narrabeen Athletics Track shows what can happen when the community comes together. Upgrades are now well underway and it’s exciting that this critical hub will soon reopen.

Fighting against Labor-Liberal backed mega towers

The biggest fight we have right now is reversing the developer-led planning reforms which have had bipartisan support in Parliament by Labor and the Liberals. Labor is in charge, but with the Liberals supporting their reforms we are seeing both parties sell out the Northern Beaches with a ‘developer-first agenda’.

I was just one of four (4) MPs to oppose these laws in Parliament. As a community we need to stand up to the Labor-Liberal reforms in NSW Parliament that is resulting in mega towers on the Northern Beaches.

Despite communities like Manly and Mosman opposing these reforms – Liberal MPs for those communities toed the party line and supported them when it came to a vote. It goes to show that when push comes to shove, major party MPs will betray their communities to support their party ‘development at any cost’ agenda.

It’s going to be a huge fight, but I know the community is against both major parties support for the Housing Delivery Authority, SSDs and LMRs on this issue.
