Newport Rockpool is a 50 metre pool at the southern end of Newport Beach, with a natural rock platform for a floor. Reach it from the walkway off Calvert Parade, or along the sand from the beach car park.
Change rooms and toilets are on hand. South of the surf club there is a playground, a big stretch of grass and electric BBQs, with plenty of cafes nearby.
Go on a calm morning for laps, and stay for a picnic.
