Toilets at Clontarf, Reef Beach, Forty Baskets Beach and North Harbour Reserve. Park open sunrise to sunset; may close in poor weather or fire danger. No pets. Part of the 80km Bondi to Manly Walk.

The big one. The Manly Scenic Walkway runs 10km one way from Spit Bridge to Manly, tracing the shoreline past Fisher Bay, Sandy Bay and Clontarf Beach before Castle Rock marks the start of Sydney Harbour National Park.

From there it climbs into bushland. Look for Aboriginal rock engravings at Grotto Point, the Grotto Point Lighthouse and Arabanoo Lookout at Dobroyd Head, a prime whale-watching spot. Reef Beach and Forty Baskets are made for a swim stop.

NSW National Parks rates it Grade 3 and allows 3 hours 30 minutes to 4 hours 30 minutes. It suits walkers with some bushwalking experience. Start early, pack water and finish with an ice cream on the Corso.
