Good to know
Unpatrolled; no lifeguards on duty. Toilets and showers are at the far end of the beach from the wharf. Seaweed is more common at low tide. Council advises avoiding swimming for three days after heavy rain.

The Manly Cove enclosure is a netted harbour swim on the wharf side of Manly Cove, beside the ferry wharf and West Esplanade. Step off the ferry and you are almost in the water.

There is no surf, just flat harbour water inside a shark net. It suits families with young kids and anyone who prefers calm water to waves. There are no lifeguards on duty, so check conditions before you swim.

High tide is best. Summer mornings are the sweet spot, before the cove gets busy.
