Good to know
Dogs are permitted off-leash 24 hours a day. Partially fenced, with a fenced section set aside for small and shy dogs. Dogs must be on-leash on the Careel Bay sportsfields. Public toilets are in the car park adjacent to the Careel Bay sportsfields.

Hitchcock Park's off-leash area takes up the northern end of the park, bordered by Etival Street, Barrenjoey Road and the Careel Bay sportsfields.

The standout is the fenced section set aside for small and shy dogs. It gives nervous pups and little legs a calmer space away from the boisterous crowd.

It is open around the clock, with toilets in the nearby sportsfield car park. Keep dogs on-leash once you step onto the sportsfields. Mornings bring a regular, friendly crowd of local dogs and owners.
