A small, triangular 20 metre rockpool on Marine Parade, carved into the rocks by locals back in 1929.
Fairy Bower is a 20 metre rockpool on Marine Parade, the coastal path between Manly Beach and Shelly Beach. It is triangular, and it has history: local residents built it in 1929, one of a string of pools cut and blasted along this coast.
It is small and full of character, more a spot for a quick dip than serious laps. It suits walkers on the Manly to Shelly Beach path who fancy a swim on the way.
Skip Wednesdays, when Council closes it for cleaning. Go early on a calm morning, then keep walking to Shelly Beach for breakfast.
