Wild and high. Bangalley Headland rises above North Avalon and is the highest point on the northern Sydney coastline, according to Council. It is also one of the largest bushland reserves on the Beaches coast.

The escarpment is cut by vertical doleritic dykes, including St Michael's Cave, an important roost for micro bats. Honeyeaters, spinebills, finches and wrens work the coastal scrub and rainforest pockets, while kestrels hunt overhead.

Bushwalkers and nature lovers will be in their element. Long-nosed bandicoots and lizards live here too, so walk quietly and leave the dog at home.
