A staged reading of a new local comedy packed with more than twenty Dave Warner songs, two nights only at Glen Street Theatre.
Derek and Sandra are a disco couple who live inside Dave Warner's song "Mug's Game". When they hear Warner is planning to walk away from music, they set off to find him, on a trip that runs from 1970s Perth to London, Surry Hills and Bali, and finally into Warner's own head. Will Warner turn up in the final scene? You'll have to come along to find out.
In Search of the Suburban Boy is a new play by local writer David Warner, presented as a staged reading so audiences can see a Northern Beaches work while it is still being developed. Local artists and musicians perform the piece, which features more than twenty of Warner's songs, and both nights are recorded for broadcast on Radio Northern Beaches.
Glen Street Theatre, Radio Northern Beaches and Manly Theatre Group are producing it together. The show runs 77 minutes with no interval.
Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 November | 7pm | Glen Street Theatre, Belrose | $20
